Actor and author Brian Blessed looks back at his stage and TV career and describes his extraordinary attempt to follow in the footsteps of his childhood hero George Leigh Mallory and climb Mount Everest wearing 1920s clothes.

In 1990, aged 53, Brian recreated the legendary expedition of Mallory and Irvine, who disappeared near the summit of Mount Everest in 1924, for the award-winning documentary film 'Galahad of Everest'.

Recorded on tour in November 1996, Brian also tells hilarious anecdotes about his roles in the TV show 'Z Cars', the musical 'Cats', and the film 'Flash Gordon', and recalls his experiences working with actors such as John Gielgud, Kenneth Branagh, Kevin Costner, John Hurt and others.
